Whatever your situation, we find the best way.

🇳🇱

Naturalisation

The standard route for those who have lived continuously and legally in the Netherlands for at least 5 years. Requires the integration exam and renunciation of your current nationality (with exceptions). We guide you through the entire process.

💍

Partner Route

Are you married or a registered partner of a Dutch citizen? You may be able to naturalise after just 3 years. Sometimes even while keeping your current nationality. We check your specific situation and options.

🔄

Option Procedure

Were you previously Dutch? Or do you have a Dutch parent? The option procedure is faster (3-6 months), cheaper (±200 euros), and you often dont need to renounce your other nationality.

📋

Documents

Foreign birth certificates, marriage certificates, certificates of good conduct - we help with obtaining, apostilling/legalising and sworn translation. Even when documents are difficult to obtain from your country of origin.

Frequently asked questions

When am I eligible for naturalisation? +
You are eligible if you have lived legally in the Netherlands for at least 5 years, passed the integration exam and have no criminal record. Partners of Dutch citizens can often apply after 3 years.
Can I keep my current nationality? +
In many cases you must renounce your current nationality. There are exceptions, for example for partners or countries where renunciation is not possible. We check this for your situation.
What does the procedure cost? +
Municipal fees are approximately €1,000 per person. Our guidance costs are discussed in the free consultation and depend on complexity.
How long does the whole process take? +
The IND procedure takes on average 6-12 months after submission. Including preparation, expect 8-15 months total.
What is the integration exam and am I exempt? +
The integration exam tests your knowledge of Dutch language (reading, writing, listening, speaking) and Dutch society (KNM). You are exempt if you: completed 8 years of education in the Netherlands, have a Dutch diploma (mbo-2 or higher), are older than 67, or can demonstrate medical reasons preventing you from passing. Certain diplomas from Belgium or Suriname also provide exemption.
Can my application be rejected? +
Yes, the IND can reject your application due to: an incomplete file, not meeting residence requirements, a criminal record or pending cases, doubts about your identity, or if you are considered a threat to public order. This is why thorough preparation is essential. We check all requirements in advance so you wont face any surprises.
What are the benefits of Dutch citizenship? +
As a Dutch citizen you can vote, work for the government, hold a Dutch passport (visa-free travel to 190+ countries), cannot be deported, have the right to consular assistance worldwide, and can pass Dutch nationality to your children. You also no longer need to renew your residence permit.
